Microneedling (cosmetic induction therapy) is a safe, natural way of
stimulating collagen production, resulting in smoother skin

How does Microneedling work? /

During microneedling, a minimally-invasive procedure, a device containing tiny microneedles carefully passes over your skin at a high speed, which initiates the production of fibroblasts.

These fibroblasts gradually transform into collagen, resulting in skin that is healthier and more youthful in appearance. Although the process of microneedling requires making microscopic injuries to the skin, it does so without causing damage; in fact, the procedure strengthens your skin, improving its firmness and thickness.

A topical anesthetic can be applied prior to the treatment by microneedling in order to minimize any discomfort. The procedure itself takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated. Although you may feel some pressure in the treatment area, we will ensure that if you opt for microneedling in Toronto at our clinic, you are kept comfortable throughout the procedure, gently treating your areas of concern.

Afterwards, the treatment area may be red but this will dissipate within a few days and you can resume normal day-to-day activities right away. Most patients begin to see improvement after just one treatment with microneedling, although it may take up to 4 weeks for results to be visible. For optimal results, 4-6 treatments are recommended, scheduled at 3-6 week intervals.

Microneedling is safe for use on the body or face. The most common treatment areas are the face, neck, décolleté, and arms but getting microneedling done at the hands of a doctor who’s experienced in this field is definitely better.

What is Mesotherapy? /

Like microneedling, mesotherapy utilizes a device containing microneedles, in order to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, greatly improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, large pores, and scarring.

However, what distinguishes mesotherapy from microneedling is its use of collagen-stimulating agents, such as Vitamin-C or Hyaluronic acid.

During this procedure, tiny microscopic wounds are made to the skin, reaching the mesoderm, or middle layer of the skin, in order to encourage collagen production while simultaneously allowing for the absorption of products. The sterile, disposable microneedles used for the procedure gently penetrate the skin, ensuring that the treatment is both safe and painless.

If desired, an anesthetic cream can be applied before the procedure to ensure that you are comfortable. While there is a chance of slight bleeding and/or bruising after the treatment with mesotherapy, most patients only experience mild redness and swelling, which diminishes within 24-48 hours of the procedure. Although you may notice an improvement in your skin within a few days, it typically takes 2-3 months to see the full effects of the treatment with mesotherapy.

We offer both microneedling and mesotherapy in Toronto at our medical facility!

What is Hyaluronic Acid & How it is used in Mesotherapy? /

Hyaluronic acid, which is naturally produced by the body, helps skin to retain and replenish moisture, keeping it plump and smooth is also used in mesotherapy.

It is also reported to mitigate the effects of sun exposure and other environmental factors that wreak havoc on the skin. However, as a result of the natural aging process, over time, our skin produces less Hyaluronic acid, which results in wrinkles, fine lines, and droopy skin.

Fortunately, aging skin can be rejuvenated when Hyaluronic acid is deposited into the skin during mesotherapy. When administered subcutaneously, Hyaluronic acid effectively restores moisture to the skin, while also encouraging the production of collagen. In the week following the procedure, hyaluronan molecules gradually work to bind water molecules, resulting in a visible improvement in the hydration and tightness of your skin. Thus, it is an extremely effective anti-aging procedure, which can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles by incorporation of Hyaluronic acid in mesotherapy.

How are Brightening Serums used in Mesotherapy?

If you are bothered by the appearance of acne scarring, sunspots, or freckles, brightening serums can be administered during mesotherapy in order to reduce this hyperpigmentation. As the microneedles pass over your skin, stimulating collagen production, they also generate the absorption of brightening serums, which counteract hyperpigmentation. Brightening serums work to lighten the treatment areas and result in an overall brighter appearance.

Why is it important to be treated by a qualified professional?

For each of the aforementioned procedures, it is crucial to seek the help of a qualified, medical professional, with the expertise and experience necessary to deliver optimal results. An inexperienced technician can do more harm than good, which is why you should only trust the best when it comes to caring for your skin. How are Antioxidant Serums used in Mesotherapy? /

Every day, your skin is exposed to a number of pollutants and environmental factors which cause damage to your cells. Over time, as our natural antioxidant defense system weakens, we begin to notice signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, which are triggered by the oxidation of our cells. Antioxidants work to protect your skin by inhibiting oxidation, thereby preventing or delaying damage to cells and ensuring that your skin remains smooth and taut. While changes can be made to your diet to increase your antioxidant intake, serums are recommended for patients hoping to dramatically combat the signs of aging.

Antioxidant serums are extremely effective multi-tasking serums formulated to protect your skin from harmful environmental factors, provide moisture, and mitigate the signs of aging. Ingredients such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E work to even out skin tone and provide hydration to the skin; retinol’s natural antioxidants strengthen your skin, while also providing protection against environmental damage and Hyaluronic acid reverses the effects of aging, smoothing and plumping skin. As a result, when delivered during mesotherapy, antioxidant serums combat the signs of aging, while also stimulating the body’s immune system. All of this is rendered by microneedling and mesotherapy in Toronto at our medical facility!
